We're excited to share that Velocity has been named to CB Insights' 2026 Fintech 100, its annual list recognising the 100 most promising fintech startups in the world.
Now in its ninth year, the Fintech 100 highlights companies changing how financial services operate, from payments and digital assets to banking infrastructure and capital markets. This year's list places particular emphasis on businesses building the underlying technology that makes financial services more efficient, connected and accessible.
For Velocity, the recognition reflects its progress in bringing financial institutions and global businesses onchain and making stablecoins a practical part of global financial infrastructure. By connecting banks, payment providers and enterprises to fiat and stablecoin infrastructure, Velocity is enabling round-the-clock settlement, eliminating the need for prefunding, and helping businesses move money across borders while managing liquidity and working capital more efficiently.
"The biggest opportunity for stablecoins isn't to create a parallel financial system. It's to improve the financial infrastructure businesses already rely on," said Eric Queathem, Founder and CEO of Velocity. "But making that work requires more than new payment rails. It requires the banking relationships, liquidity, controls and operational infrastructure that institutions need to use these capabilities at scale. That's what we've been focused on building at Velocity, and it's great to see that work recognised by CB Insights."
The recognition follows a year of significant growth for Velocity, including its $48 million Series A, strategic investment from Visa, and continued expansion into new markets. The company has also grown its global network of banking, payments and liquidity partners, strengthening its position as an infrastructure provider to financial institutions and enterprises worldwide.
CB Insights selected this year's winners from more than 70,000 fintech companies, evaluating factors including investment activity, industry partnerships, investor strength, commercial traction and growth potential.
We're proud to be recognised alongside companies tackling some of the financial industry's most important challenges, and grateful to our team, customers and partners for their continued support.
